Dr. George K. Stookey

Dr. George K. Stookey received a master's degree in preventive dentistry in 1962 and a doctorate in dental sciences in 1971 from Indiana University School of Dentistry. He joined the school's preventive dentistry faculty in 1964 and served as director of the Oral Health Research Institute from 1981-1999. He was also Associate Dean for Research from 1985-1996 and 2000-2001. He was promoted to Distinguished Professor in 1998 and retired from the I.U. School of Dentistry in 2001. He continues to be an active, award-winning researcher with a primary interest in fluoride and cavity prevention. In 2002, Dr. Stookey acquired Therametric Technologies, which invents and tests dental health products.
