Ving J. Lee, PhD

Dr. Ving J. Lee received his PhD in Chemistry from University of Illinois-Urbana in 1975 and then spent two years as a National Institutes of Health postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University, working on synthesis of the antibiotics erythromycin and bicyclomycin. Since then, he has had a distinguished career in pharmaceutical research. In 2002, Dr. Lee was awarded a multimillion-dollar federal grant to develop an antibiotic effective against anthrax. Dr. Lee has authored numerous research papers, holds 74 US patents, and has lectured around the world. He belongs to the American Association for Advancement of Science and American Chemical Society, among other professional organizations. Dr. Lee is currently Chief Executive Officer and Chief Scientific Officer of Adesis, Inc., a contract research firm.
