Jay W. Friedman, DDS, MPH
Public Health
Dr. Friedman earned a DDS degree from Columbia University in 1948 and a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Michigan in 1962. He practiced general dentistry in New York, the U.S. Air Force Dental Corps, Washington and California. He has been a researcher at the UCLA School of Public Health and a consultant and director of various dental programs. He serves as dental adviser for Consumer Reports on Health, and is author of The Intelligent Consumer’s Complete Guide to Dental Health. Dr. Friedman was awarded the 2012 John W. Knutson Distinguished Service Award in Dental Public Health.
