Dr. Fahl received his dental degree from Londrina State University, Brazil, in 1987, and his Certificate in Operative Dentistry and Master of Science degree from the University of Iowa in 1989. He is a member of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (AAED), a founding member and past-president of the Brazilian Society of Aesthetic Dentistry, and a MCG-Hinman Foundation Fellow. In 2008, he received the AAED President's Award for Best Teacher. Dr. Fahl is director of the Fahl Art & Science in Aesthetic Dentistry Institute in Brazil, where he conducts courses on direct and indirect adhesive restorations. Since 1990, he has also dedicated himself to teaching esthetic restorative dentistry at a post-graduate level and has accumulated much experience in the art and science of teaching by lecturing internationally. His presentations encompass one-day lectures, hands-on sessions and courses, and live patient clinics. He sits on the editorial board of several peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, and has published numerous articles on direct and indirect bonding techniques. He is also an active consultant for several manufacturers in the development and refinement of new materials and techniques. Dr. Fahl maintains a private practice emphasizing esthetic and cosmetic dentistry in Curitiba, Brazil.
