Dear Doctor started as a dream and we have been willing it ever since. Being doctors, we had a passion — not only to provide our own patients with the best care possible, but also to give dental patients everywhere a better understanding of why doctors recommend certain treatments and what was being done to and for them.

We shared our dream while in graduate school. The two of us became great friends while attending the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine and that friendship is stronger today. Ever industrious, and dreamers, we thought there had to be a better way to bring accurate, unbiased information and education to our patients. So…years later we created Dear Doctor – Dentistry & Oral Health magazine. Dear Doctor is evidenced-based whenever possible and always represents the state of the art in dentistry.

From our first issue in 2007 to now, we have created a compendium of information covering all aspects of dentistry, oral health, its relationship to general health, a section on patient care, and most recently a section on facial health, beauty and aging. We've compiled a digital library from all past issues, making all the information easily accessible as well as easily readable. And there's more to come as we branch into educational videos to make dentistry and oral health even more understandable. Are we there yet?

That's the perennial question kids ask about a journey that (seemingly) started only an hour ago. The answer is, we're getting there. Always there's more to be done as the art and science of healthcare continues to grow and expand. We aim to be there to present it to you and continue to make Dear Doctor the “go to” place and the best provider of information of its type.

Dear Doctor started as a dream, to bring bonafide knowledge to the public in an entertaining and easy to understand way; to empower individuals with information needed to make informed healthcare decisions together with their healthcare providers.

And finally, as they say, “It takes a village.” This is a tribute to the talented, hardworking and dedicated “team” that has become and now truly is Dear Doctor. Guys and gals, you know who you are — we couldn't have done it without you.
