Dr. Jones and his staff provide numerous services to treat periodontal disease, enhance patient’s smiles, and provide dental implants to replace missing teeth.
Periodontal Surgical Services
When necessary, Dr. Jones can perform a number of surgical procedures to treat periodontal disease. These procedures include:
Pocket Reduction Periodontal Surgery: Dr. Jones uses evidence based proven surgical therapies to reduce the deep pockets around teeth which occur in periodontal disease. Dr. Jones uses a variety of techniques ranging from traditional resective pocket reduction surgery to regenerative therapies and bone grafting which regenerate the missing bone and gums around affected teeth.

Aesthetic Crown Lengthening: This procedure is performed to modify the appearance and topography of the gums around the teeth seen in a patient’s smile. It can alter a “gummy smile” to produce a more pleasing appearance and is often performed prior to aesthetic veneers or crowns when patients are making changes to their smiles.

Root Coverage Gum Grafts: Many people have gum recession that results in root exposure. The exposed root can be very sensitive to cold or touch. Dr. Jones can place a root coverage gum graft that regenerates the missing gum tissue over the root. This is particularly popular when the exposed root involves one of the “smile teeth.”

Dental Implant Surgical Services:
One of Dr. Jones’ most important services is the surgical placement of dental implants. These pure titanium root form implants bond directly to the bone and form a solid base to support a crown, bridge or denture. At present, Dr. Jones enjoys a 97% success rate with his implant placement. In his practice, Dr. Jones places at least one dental implant every day.

Sinus Augmentation Surgery: Often when teeth are missing in the upper jaw the maxillary sinus expands and resorbs the bone that held the teeth in place. This limits the bone available to support a dental implant. Dr. Jones can perform a Sinus Lift Bone Graft procedure that will establish bone to support a dental implant and is accomplished by raising the sinus floor and grafting bone. This procedure and is routinely performed in the office.

Lateral Ridge Augmentation: Once a tooth is removed in the mandible, bone resorption takes place and thins the mandible where the teeth are missing. Eventually, the bone in this area is too thin to accommodate a dental implant. Dr. Jones can perform a lateral ridge augmentation procedure to widen the bone at the desired implant site. Several different techniques exist to augment the bone. Dr. Jones chooses the technique that will best improve the site to receive a dental implant.
