A Specialist Providing Special Care
Dr. Garry A. Rayant is a specialist in periodontics and implant dentistry. He graduated from the London Hospital Medical College Dental School, London University, with a B.D.S degree in 1972; Royal College of Surgeons of England with an L.D.S.R.C.S. degree in 1973 and a Master's Degree in Periodontics Related to Behavioral Science, London University in 1975. He was an Annenberg scholar to the University of Pennsylvania where he completed his clinical speciality training and received a certificate in periodontics in 1977. He was awarded his DDS in 1998 by the state of California.

Dr. Rayant practiced general dentistry in London before coming to the United States. He has participated in behavioral science research related to dental and oral health on both an individual and community based levels. He has lectured and published nationally and internationally. He was a full time academician, researcher and teacher in California before going into private clinical practice and has been involved in teaching throughout his career.

In 1990 he founded and directs the San Francisco Academy for Advanced Dental Education - A Graduate Forum For The Mastery Of Excellence In The Art And Science Of Dental Care. He is active in community and political affairs in the San Francisco Bay Area and nationally, and has been an active healthcare advocate. His hobbies include running, biking, reading, music and the arts, travel & sleep (time permitting).

Through the art of behavior modification daily oral hygiene behavior, nutrition, smoking cessation and stress management are modified and improved.

Plastic periodontal surgery - for the treatment of gum recession to cover unsightly or sensitive roots or otherwise regenerate lost bone and gum tissue.
